UAE hosts a regional ARASIA Training Course in collaboration with the International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA)
At the beginning of
October a two-week regional Training Course for enhancing the Use of Salt
Affected Soils and Saline Water for Crop and Biomass Production and Reducing
Land and Water Quality Degradation in ARASIA States Parties was held in Dubai
in collaboration with ICBA.

Systems of Accounting for and Control of Nuclear Material for Newcomer States,
hosted by the IAEA.
UAE regulator attends ALMERA workshops
UAE is a member of the ALMERA network, a worldwide
network of analytical laboratories, established by the IAEA. Through a series
of workshops and meetings the ALMERA network aims to ensure harmonization amongst
its laboratories.
Health workshops as part of the action plan of UAE-IAEA National Projects
The UAE continues to work with the IAEA
on enhancing the application of nuclear techniques in the medical field. Two
activities were organized with the IAEA on a national and regional level and
one in cooperation with th Cooperative Agreement of Arab States in Asia for
Research, Development and Training related to Nuclear Science and Technology (ARASIA).
UAE-IAEA National Workshop on designing TC projects
In collaboration with IAEA, the
Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) and Khalifa University, the UAE
Permanent Mission (PM) organized a national workshop on designing Technical
Cooperation (TC) projects with the IAEA,
using the Logical Framework Approach (LFA).
Side-Event on Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage
Ambassador Hamad Alkaabi, UAE Permanent Representative
to the IAEA, along with other eight Contracting Parties, co-hosted a side-event
on ‘Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage,’ on
27 September to help coordinate discussion on the benefits of the Treaty. Other
co-sponsors include: Argentina, India, Japan, Montenergro, Morocco, Romania,
and United States.
