In January an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Expert Mission reviewed the process for operational readiness assessment in support of operation license decision of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR).
The Mission provided recommendations regarding future regulatory strategy and approach for the assessment and determination of operational readiness of Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs).The review helped FANR to confirm it is on an appropriate path in its framework and decision making process towards the determination of the organizational operational readiness of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.
