In collaboration with IAEA, the
Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) and Khalifa University, the UAE
Permanent Mission (PM) organized a national workshop on designing Technical
Cooperation (TC) projects with the IAEA,
using the Logical Framework Approach (LFA).
The workshop was important, as it
brought together 23 participants from national stakeholders such as the FANR to
work jointly on finalizing the upcoming UAE projects with the IAEA for 2018.
During the four days, participants were introduced to the LFA methodology,
which the IAEA uses for all TC projects. Experts from the IAEA and the
Permanent Mission provided additional support through practical exercises.
The workshop highlights the UAE’s
commitment to aligning its programme with the IAEA’s highest quality standards.
It is the third of its kind provided to UAE stakeholders; a
workshop on evaluation and monitoring
was also held earlier in January.
Through organizing these 'quality
workshops' with the IAEA, the Permanent Mission aims to transfer sustainable
knowledge to national stakeholders, which is necessary to ensure a successful TC programme
with the IAEA and reflect the 'UAE model' to other countries.
