UAE Regulator Signs Nuclear Cooperation with ARPANSA

On 17 September, Administrative Arrangement for cooperation was signed between the Federal Authority of Nuclear Regulation (FANR) and the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) to further strengthening cooperation between the two agencies.

 
The newly signed arrangement will enable the exchange of technical information and cooperation in areas relating to the safety of radiation facilities and nuclear installations and the safety and security of radioactive sources.
 
The arrangement was signed by H.E. Ambassador Hamad Alkaabi, in his capacity as a Board Member of (FANR) and Dr.Carl-Magnus Larsson, Chief Executive Officer of (ARPANSA) on the margins of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna.
 
UAE Government has previously signed an Agreement on 31 July 2013 with the Government of Australia for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
