UAE Signs Administrative Arrangement on Nuclear Cooperation Agreement with Canada

An administrative arrangement to facilitate implementation of a civilian nuclear cooperation agreement was signed between the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and the UAE Government.

 
 
Ambassador Hamad Alkaabi, and Michael Binder, President of the CNSC, have signed the Administrative Arrangement on 19 September 2012, at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
 
The Administrative arrangement signing comes few days following the signing of the Nuclear Cooperation Agreement between the UAE Minister for Foreign Affairs H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Canadian Minister for Foreign Affairs in Ottawa, Canada.
 
The arrangement facilitates the implementations of the provisions of the nuclear cooperation agreement. Together, the Nuclear Cooperation Agreement, the Administrative Arrangement will allow programmatic implementation including a process to export of nuclear items and materials to the UAE.
 
The UAE has in place multiple government to government cooperation agreements including ones with the USA, the UK, South Korea, France and Australia.
